PLANNING

The company has a business plan that defines the strategic and operational objectives for the year.

The market for your product or service is good or excellent.

The company has the right attorneys, accountants, coach or advisors.

The CEO has a vision and mission and makes sure it is conducting business according to that mission and the staff has bought into it.


SERVICE

The staff makes sure every customer is satisfied with the service and there is a way to quantitatively measure customer satisfaction.

Service and requests are fulfilled in record time. Faster than customer expected.

Value is continuously being added to products and services whether the customer asks for it or not.

Staff learns from every mistake or client loss.


STAFF MANAGEMENT

Staff responsibilities and accountabilities are written and clear.

Employees are in jobs which use their individual strengths.

Staff wants to come to work and is treated with respect.

There are no weak links and management is qualified by experience education, motivation and competence.

Employee performance is reviewed after the first three months and every six months thereafter.


SALES AND HIGH PRODUCTIVITY

Sales are being done by those who really know how to sell and are managed weekly on results.

Sales staff is motivated producing and excited about their success.

Operation is completely computerized.

Problems are identified and handled immediately.

Staff communicates everything that gets in the way of being productive and knows how to make a request not a complaint.


PROFITS

The company profits are high at a conservative level of sales or a lot is being sold.

Break –even levels are low.

The company is profit driven versus revenue driven.

G & A expenses are decreasing as a percentage of net sales.

 

 

Count how many questions are true for you and keep a list of the ones that are not. The statements that you did not mark and that are pertinent to your type of business are the areas you need to work on.
